the needle knows.
embroidery (kadhai), stitch by stitch, hour by hour. why each piece takes us six to nine days.
the kurta you're holding has roughly 12,000 stitches. each one was placed by hand. each one decided in real time — angle, tension, color thread, pause for the cat to walk past.
we considered going to machine embroidery once. a vendor sent us a sample. it was technically flawless. it also looked like nothing. no rhythm, no breath. we said no.
what you're paying for is six to nine days of someone else's attention. when a friend touches it and says *whoa* — they're feeling that attention. that's the magic.
